Configure DNS and Routing on an ESXi Host
We will use the vSphere Client to set the DNS, default gateway and fully qualified domain name.

Configuring DNS and Routing via Virtual Center

  1. Connect to vCenter server via vSphere Client
  2. Browse to Hosts and Clusters
  3. Select the ESXi host
  4. Select the Configuration tab
  5. In the Software pane, click DNS and Routing
  6. Click Properties
    1. Configure domain name,
    2. DNS server(s)
    3. FQDN
Default gateway


 
  DNS configuration can be done via the vSphere client as shown above or via the DCUI or the vMA and vicfg-dns.
